[Taiwan] 嘉義,嘉義市,蓬萊食品店 (Peng Lai)

網路上,大部分部落格給這間店的名字是蓬萊漢堡,雖然我覺得它其實應該是間西點麵包店,兼賣漢堡。 
Many bloggers mention that Peng Lai is a place who sells hamburgers. Based on how it sells, it should be more like a bakery. 



走進店內,的確可看到許多台式麵包,倒是櫥窗裡有不少很特別的蛋糕是我以前也未曾見過的。 
A really traditional Taiwanese style bakery.


就在店內一角,有相關的煎炒漢堡肉,料的設備,空間如此之小,來這兒買漢堡基本上應該都是外帶。 
There is a small place inside the bakery for cooking hamburgers. So, you can only take it away.





有不少部落客說這是尋找嘉義人的回憶美味,我必須承認,這應該有某種程度上的真實,當自己其實並不是嘉義人時,這個漢堡實在是挺普通的,甚至因為有點習慣了美式漢堡的重口味與多汁漢堡排,覺得自己實在不太像是在吃漢堡;基於此,如果你沒有這個記憶中的美味,不建議來,因為尋找不到~
To be honest, there are also some bloggers say that the hamburger here is for the people grew up in Chiayi who is looking for the taste of childhood. I have to say, that's true. Nothing really special for that hamburger. For me, maybe I prefer the American style of hamburger which should be juicy and strong flavor, that's not enough. For those who don't have the memory of it, you shouldn't come here to looking for it.

[Taiwan] 嘉義,嘉義市,劉里長雞肉飯 (Liu Li Zhang Ji Rou Fan)

第三天早上,在旅舍櫃台的建議之下,我們來到劉里長雞肉飯吃早餐,一到就發現KANO的橫條推薦(雖然我不知道KANO在什麼樣的場合進行推薦,呵~),再加上幾乎客滿的人潮,應該是不錯的選擇。 
On the 3rd day morning, we came to Liu Li Zhang Ji Rou Fan for the breakfast by the recommendation from the front desk of the hostel.


看起來很傳統的菜單,除了主要的火雞肉飯之外,還有很多配菜可以選擇,我超愛這樣的菜單,可以點很多道菜,吃到爽! 
The menu, and there are many side dishes for order. Although I usually don't eat too much for the breakfast. With so many things I can order, I just want to try as many as I can.


坐下後突然發現,桌上貼了張小廣告,劉里長雞肉飯準備要在晚餐時段營業了,這或許是個好消息,不再只有早午餐可以吃到。 
It seems that here didn't serve for dinner before and they are preparing (maybe hire new staffs) to opened at dinner time.


全部上桌之後才發現,原來我們點了八道菜呀,哈~真是豐盛的早餐~ 
Totally we ordered 8 dishes. 



火雞肉片飯和火雞肉絲飯我們各點了一碗,米飯都煮得很香,再加上雞油,十分好吃,就我個人來說,我更喜歡肉片飯,大片一點比較容易吃出火雞肉的美味。
The turkey rice, one is shredded and the other is sliced. The rice cooked really well and with the juice of turkey, it's so good. For me, I prefer to have the turkey been sliced, it's easier to taste the sweet of turkey.




  
配菜部分有涼豆腐,炒高麗菜(已放涼),醬油花枝(不點沙拉口味是因為沙拉總是會放太多,那就破壞了花枝的美味了),滷豬皮與荷包蛋,一開始我覺得花枝有點太少,不過由於配菜太多的關係,吃起來其實算是剛剛好,不會吃得太飽;不過,我倒是覺得豬皮的油太厚了,薄一點的話,豬皮應該會更有嚼勁,更好吃。 
The side dishes, we had tofu, fried cabbage (already cool down), squid, pig skin and over-egg. At the beginning, I thought the squid is too small. Since we ordered so much, it's just fit for us. For these side dishes, I just had a small complaint, the pig skin is too fat. If the fat can be less, it should be perfect. 


最後以一碗火雞腳湯結束,好舒服~

[New Zealand] Lake Matheson

Fox Glacier,福克斯冰河,是紐西蘭南島西岸的兩大冰河之一(另一條冰河是Franz Joseph),而在冰河旁的小鎮,也以同樣的名字命名,出發後的第二個晚上,我們便住在這個小鎮,在小鎮附近,有一座非常有名的湖泊-馬松森湖 (Lake Matheson),我個人非常喜歡,建議大家若有機會,請來兩次,黃昏來一次,凌晨來一次,看不同的光線下,馬松森湖不同的美!
Fox Glacier, is the name of the famous glacier and also the name of the town next to the glacier. It's where we stayed for one night. There is a really famous lake nearby where you can come here twice, at the sunset and sunrise.



依前一天的經驗,晚上一定要出來拍星空的呀!
At the night, since the sky is clean (it's always clean), I take photos for the galaxy.



另外,在福克斯小鎮還有一個秘密景點,一條小步道,就在六號高速公路,要離開小鎮前的路標旁,可以在野外,免費欣賞紐西蘭的名產-glowworm (螢火蟲),這是一種,不會移動,但可以在夜晚發光的昆蟲,非常漂亮,可以讓人靜下心來,因為不靜下來可能不太容易看到,呵~只是我忘了這條步道的名字,在Google地圖上,目前可以看到的名字是Fox Glacier Glow Worm Forest (福克斯冰河螢火蟲森林,不知道是不是真的是這個翻譯,哈),應該還挺好找的,若能早點到鎮上,去I-site問一下也能知道。
PS. 翻了照片,似乎應該叫做Minnehaha track,只是我也不確定了~
上面照片就是我在一片螢火蟲前,拉長曝光時間而拍下來的,回來看了以後,才發現應該要打個光的,這樣才能把背景的樹木拍進去,才拍得出場景,若還能再去,可以再來試試。
There is a secret spot at Fox Glacier. There is a short track on the 6th highway just before the sign leaving the town Fox Glacier. It's located as Fox Glacier Glow Worm Forest on the Google Maps. You don't need to walk far away, just less than 10 minutes and you will see it. You could come here when the sun is still in the sky and come back at night. The glow worm is famous at Te Anau, but you need to pay there. Here is free and you can stay as long as you want. For me, I tried to take a photo like above. Not that good, but I did my best. If I have next time here, I'll turn on the flashlight for one or two seconds for the camera to see the plants.


由於抵達的時間已晚,晚上又出去看螢火蟲,拍星空,我們只在第二天凌晨來到馬松森湖,且由於稍晚還要騎車,我們大概只待了一個小時,其實是不太夠的,建議能規劃個兩到三小時才會比較悠閒,畢竟一定要走到湖對面的Reflection Island Lookout,倒影的美景,真的是超級美的啦!
Since we rode really late while arrived, we only came here on the 2nd day at the sunrise time. I'll recommend you at least spend 2 to 3 hours here, you must go to the Reflection Island Lookout to see if you're lucky to have the fantastic reflection like I did this time.





晴朗的天空,平靜的湖面,反映出來的庫克山與Tasman山,這就是馬松森湖最美的倒影,再加上清晨黃色的陽光與朝霧,真的好像在天堂!
The sky is clear and the Mt. Tasman and the Mt. Cook is really beautiful. With the dawn and the morning fog, we felt that we're in the heaven.

也別忘了來到湖邊的馬松森咖啡店享用一餐,食物很精緻,好吃,我曾在這裡用過晚餐,超美味~

[Taiwan] 嘉義,嘉義市,南門碳燒杏仁茶 (South Gate Almond Tea)

吃完牛雜湯,我們散步往南門圓環前進,因為這兒有非常有名的碳燒杏仁茶,想說吃完早午餐,來喝杯杏仁茶似乎不錯! 
After the brunch, we took a walk to the South Gate Circle. Here has a famous booth which serves Almond Tea.



雖然已經在網路上看過照片,但看到如照片上這般,就是一堆塑膠椅放在路邊就成攤位,還是挺讓人驚訝的!一坐下來,老闆就問:要不要加蛋?加蛋就是裡面會加一顆蛋黃,說實話,我是喝不太出差異,杏仁茶本身很濃郁,也很順口,像我女友那樣不愛喝杏仁茶的人都說好吃,自己單點了一杯。 
There are two kinds of it, with or without yolk. The almond tea was heated with charcoal. I'm not that good to taste the flavor of charcoal, but I can tell that the tea is really smooth to drink. My girl friend, who doesn't like the taste of almond tea at Taipei, but she thinks this one is good.


坐下後,發現來了位嘉義人,先點了一杯加蛋的杏仁茶,很快地喝完,再點根油條與一杯不加蛋的杏仁茶,原來嘉義人是這樣在這兒吃早餐的呀!於是我們也加點了根油條,沾著熱熱的杏仁茶別有一番滋味,真的是一道輕鬆的早餐,即使我們已經吃過牛雜湯,也不會覺得太飽。
When we saw a person lives in Chiayi drink it with Youtiao (deep-fried Chinese donut), we also try one.

[Taiwan] 嘉義,嘉義市,王家祖傳牛雜湯 (Wang's Beef Entrails)

隔天,睡到自然醒再準備出門吃早午餐,已經在網路上查到,王家祖傳牛雜湯份量不少,對早餐吃得不多的我來說,差不多算是早午餐的份量了。 
On the next day, we went to the Wang's Beef Entrails for the brunch.


雖然透過Google Maps查到的地址是有門號的,但其實它的攤位位在東市場裡面,在外面是逛不到的,沿著指標進入市場吧!
It's inside the East market of Chiayi, please get in. It's not on the side of the road.


雖然位子偏內側,可以透過詢問其他攤商,或是跟著人潮走,倒是不難找,基本上販售的東西就是牛的各個部位,為了一「碗」打盡,直接就點了牛雜湯。 
You can easily find it follow the visitors or you may ask anyone there. It serves many different portions of the bovine. We just ordered the Beef Entrails to try most of them.




果然是比我預期地還多料,湯汁還蓋不住滿溢的牛雜,分辨一下,的確是牛肝,肚,心,肉,腰都有,至少也有個兩到三塊,吃得挺爽的,基本上都是煮得比較嫰Q,有嚼勁的口感,配上清燉湯頭,適合一早,輕鬆地開始,如果覺得味道不夠重,可以搭配一點醬汁食用;如果覺得湯喝得不夠,這兒可以免費加湯。
There are so many pieces and you can ask for more soup for free. The soup is light so you may still taste the sweet of beef. If it's not salty enough, you may eat them with the soy sauce.




由於看到隔壁的弟弟手上拿著的春捲(潤餅)看來不錯,接著就到旁邊攤位的蕭家春捲買了一份,蔬菜很新鮮,好吃;調味上老闆娘加了不少糖,所以吃起來是甜的,提醒一下。
Just next to Wang, there is another small vendor, the Xiao's Popiah. There are a lot of vegetables inside and with sweet sauce. It's more like a dessert.

[Taiwan] 嘉義,嘉義市,正老牌草魚粥 (Zheng Lao Pai)

週五晚上,和女友一起搭客運南下嘉義,準備隔天去參觀嘉義燈會,之所以選擇客運,主要自然是為了要省錢,如果搭高鐵,從台北車站到嘉義,單程要價1080元,但如果搭客運,則只要420,若直接買來回票,可以再便宜一點,兩趟800元,只是就要耗費比較多的時間了,客運大概要四小時(240分鐘),高鐵則只要100分鐘,大概可以節省兩小時的時間。
On a Friday night, my girl friend and I took the bus from Taipei to Chiayi for the next day to go to the Taiwan Lantern Festival. It takes about 4 hours but it's cheaper compares to Taiwan High Speed Rail. For Taiwan High Speed Rail, it costs NTD 1080 for one way from Taipei Main Station to Chiayi. For the bus, it only costs NTD 800 if you buy two-way ticket. For one-way ticket is only NTD 420. The difference is the time it needs. FOr Taiwan High Speed Rail only takes about 100 minutes, but the bus will take 240 minutes.

當我們抵達嘉義並入住旅店之後,其實已經十一點多了,雖然如此,在車站附近仍然有相當不錯的宵夜選擇─正老牌草魚粥,營業時間是從下午五點到隔天早上十點,且只休週日(週日晚上不開),我們抵達時已臨近十二點,但仍然不斷地有顧客上門,甚至在要離開的時候,還要小小地排個隊,人潮真是不少。
When we arrived Chiayi and check-in to the hostel, it's already 10 minutes after 11 o'clock. Even it was late, we still have something for the supper, Zheng Lao Pai. It opened from 17:00 to 10:00 on next day. Only closed on Sunday. When we arrived, it's almost midnight, but still some people there. While we were eating, people still keep coming. Some of them even need to wait couple minutes.


這兒賣得東西也不多,草魚尾,草魚肉和草魚頭,草魚頭很大,一碗大概可以抵魚肉兩到三碗,不過由於標的是時價,點之前別忘了多問一句,你點的那顆頭要價幾何?除了草魚,另外就是魯肉飯與小菜,或許今天生意太好,我抵達時只有魯肉飯和草魚頭而已了!
Here only services several things, the tail, the body and the head of grass carp. And Lu Rou Fan (Braised pork rice or Minced pork rice) and side dishes. When we arrived, the side dishes were sold out, so we don't know what are they. Not only that, the tail and the body of grass carp also sold out. So we can only have Lu Rou Fan and the head of grass carp. Before you order the head, remember to ask how much it is because it only says it changes with the market price.




魯肉飯很好吃,不會太鹹,且白飯粒粒分明,淋上醬汁之後更有味道,很容易一口接一口就吃完了。
The Lu Rou Fan is good. The rice is delicious to eat with the sauce. With the fatty pork, you can finish it just in minutes.








草魚頭超大一碗(其實只是半顆頭),一開始在鍋裡時還不覺得,一上桌才嚇一跳,而且魚肉很多,再加上魚油,臉頰肉,吃得好過癮,完全沒想到外食的時候可以吃魚吃得這麼爽,覺得這半顆頭要價台幣200元,真的不貴。
The head of grass carp is big. I can totally understand why it costs NTD 200. It's fresh and sweet. If you like to eat the head of a fish, there are so much you can eat. Fantastic.


吃完準備去買單,突然發現老闆面前的鍋裡,突然出現了很多草魚肉,一問之下才知,原來還有另外的廚房,隨時可以因應客人數量趕快加做,現在就有一批草魚肉剛煮好,於是送了過來,剛剛才吃過好吃的草魚頭,實在很想再嚐嚐草魚肉,就再加點了一碗,好鮮嫰的魚肉,讚!
While we were leaving, there comes more bodies of the grass carp. After talked with the waitress, she said that because they have the kitchen at another place and the chef are there to cook it all the time. Because of that, now they can sell the body of grass carp again. So, we sit down again and eat more than we expected, ha~

這兩碗湯都有一個小小的缺點,一開始喝到的都是草魚的鮮美,剩最後兩三口的時候,卻幾乎都是薑的味道,如果妳不喜歡,就像我,建議別喝完它。
There is one thing I would like to remind you, don't drink the soup all if you don't like the taste of ginger. You can easy to tell that the chef put lots of ginger. It's not strong for the first half of the bowl and it will become more and more strong when you try to finish the soup all.
